Earlier this week, we went to Marlboro, NY to celebrate my bestie’s birthday at Benmarl Winery! Your fellow Bronx girlie pops did a mixed wine tasting, ate freshly made pizza in a cozy farmhouse looking space, and yapped for hours about the state of our world. I tried a white sparking ‘21 Pètillant (I am a bubbles girl), a white ‘23 Sauvignon Blanc, a ‘21 Petit Verdot (least acidic of the reds) and a Marlboro Village Blush (sweet). My favorite is the blush, and then the Pètillant! We also got to try their seasonal sangria that was made with apples, cinnamon bark, caramel vodka and a chardonnay I believe (don’t quote me lmao I could be wrong). That sangria was fantastic, give me 14 of them! We arrived around noon and it started getting packed around 1pm. Benmarl has become our fave spot since summer 2023 when we were scavenging tiktoks for a poc friendly spot to drink wine and have a good time. Check out my other blog posts here :)
