In 2015, she graduated from an all women’s institution, Mount Holyoke College, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Minor in Latina/o Studies.

Evelyn began her professional photography journey at the end of 2017. While working part-time as an Art Instructor, before and after work, she taught herself the creative and technical skills of portrait photography.

Within a mere half-year, she masterfully conceptualized and brought to life an impactful photo series featuring over 100 women of color in New York City. This project catapulted Evelyn into her creative career, a turning point that has since become an pivotal part of her narrative.

Evelyn Martinez has  showcased her creations at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, Union Square Park, The People's Forum, and Unlocal.
At the moment, Evelyn has taken a hiatus from her jewelry business to pursue other endeavors.

In her own poignant words, Evelyn encapsulates her approach to her photography work: "Anyone can take your photograph but not everyone will take the time and care to witness you."
