Creating stories through Photography and Jewelry.
Photographer. Creative Director. Jewelry Maker.
My name is Evelyn Martinez. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a queer disabled Xicana artist born and raised in The Bronx. In photography, I specialize in portraiture, lifestyle, documentary and stock imagery. In 2017, I conceptualized, managed and shot an extensive and powerful photo series of more than 100 women of color in New York City within six months. This project was the catalyst to my professional photography career and since then my work has been featured in Getty Images, Telemundo, Remezcla, Her Campus, Adobe Express and more.
As a jewelry maker, my pieces incorporate both everyday and imaginative elements that allow others to identify with different parts of me and to the communities that matter to me. I've been a vendor at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, The Fat Femme Collective, Women Who Thrive, Anthony Avenue Community Garden and Union Square Park.
