Essex Market with Aniqa

When I reflect on my friendships from the end of my teenage years, I think about my friend Aniqa :). We met as starry-eyed students at Brooklyn College in the fall of 2011. We’ve maintained our bond after almost 14 years and it’s truly a blessing to have friends for that long and to know them that intimately.

This weekend we got to catch up at Essex Market. My first time there was with my friend Lissette and it was so CUTE! This time around instead of eating ceviche, I got myself Unregular Pizza and Aniqa got a Moroccan sandwich 😋. Thankfully, it was warm inside of the market ( they have plenty of seating space upstairs & a restroom downstairs).

I feel ease, comfort and growth within our friendship and that’s so needed in our current state of the world. We talked about so much and yet I still felt we needed way more time 🥺.

In terms of the food we had, my pizza was appetizing! I didn’t like the sausage but that was a given lol I just wanted to absolutely rule out if I liked Italian sausage or not. Me quede con el antojo de la Taqueria Diana in the East Village, pero para la proxima voy con Aniqa!

Ttyl, enjoy this mural I saw that made us chuckle :D
